QR TripTags
QR codes (short for “Quick Response”) are two-dimensional barcodes. You can scan them with any QR code reader, which is available for free in all app stores for your mobile devices. After scanning, the content of the code will be displayed on your device. In case of the TripTag, a link to the digital address card (TripCard) will be shown.
There are three major advantages:
- Much more relevant information can be placed behind the QR code than on a conventional luggage tag. There is not only room for an address on the luggage tag, but also other details about the journey, such as the accommodation where you can be reached during your holiday. The travel period and several stops can also be entered if you are planning a round trip or similar.
- Since the QR code refers to your digital address card (TripCard), you do not always need new luggage tags or at least a new paper inlay if your address or telephone number changes. Just update your TripCard and use your TripTag over and over again.
- While on a conventional luggage tag your personal details are visible at a glance, the QR code ensures that not everyone can immediately see where you live. This makes it more difficult for fraudsters to steal your data, for instance to break into your home in your absence or to misuse your data for other criminal purposes.
Basically, scratches are not a problem. QR codes have been technically created in such a way that they are still scannable even if 30% of the code is damaged or dirty.
The QR TripTags are made of sturdy PVC so that it is almost impossible to break the luggage tag. Have you ever tried to break an old debit or credit card without any tools? Pretty difficult, right? The TripTags are made of the same material. So we would say they will last as long as you want to use them… and probably much longer.
Yes, in two ways:
- Since the personal data is not readable at a glance, it is more difficult for fraudsters to steal your data and misuse it for criminal purposes. You can also deactivate your TripCard at any time when your luggage is with you, so that even a snapshot of your QR code will not lead to your personal data most of the time. Furthermore, you can decide yourself which data should be visible when the TripCard is activated and which should not.
- Your data is stored on a server with SSL encryption. This means that the connection is encoded, which prevents third parties from viewing your data. The server is located in Dresden, Germany. So all data is subject to German data protection laws, which are considered to be some of the strictest in the world. Of course, our privacy policy also applies.
In general, yes.
- Because the TripTags are made of sturdy, durable, waterproof material, they are no disposable items, but can be reused as long as you like.
- If you ever want to throw away your TripTag, choose the trash can that is used for plastic recycling in your country. The TripTag is recyclable.
- The data centre where the server is located, on which this website and all TripCards are stored, is run by eco-power. The electricity is generated by a hydroelectric power plant, without climate-damaging CO² emissions or radioactive waste.
Payment
The following payment options are available:

To pay by PayPal, you need a PayPal account. In your account you can enter your bank account or credit card details. After clicking the “Buy now” button on QR TripTags you will be redirected to the PayPal page, where you can log in to your account and pay quickly and easily with just a few clicks. - Credit card

You will receive an email confirmation of your order. The invoice can be found in the attachment of this email.
If you have cancelled your order or an item is temporarily out of stock, you will receive a refund within 48 hours. We will use the same payment method as you used for the original payment.
Shipping
All items receive a tracking number, which will be sent to you by email. You can use it to check the shipment status on the website of Deutsche Post. For orders outside Germany, it is often possible to check a more detailed shipment status on the website of the national postal service (e.g. usps.com in the USA or royalmail.com for the UK).
Shipping within Germany:
- We charge 3,50 EUR for shipping and handling.
- The shipping company is Deutsche Post/DHL.
- Free shipping for orders over 35 EUR.
Shipping within Europe:
- We charge 6,50 EUR for shipping and handling.
- The shipping company is Deutsche Post/DHL.
- Free shipping for orders over 50 EUR.
Shipping outside Europe:
- We charge 8,00 EUR for shipping and handling.
- The shipping company is Deutsche Post/DHL.
- Free shipping for orders over 80 EUR.
In exceptional cases, express shipping is possible. Please send an email to support@qrtriptags.com including your question and address, so that we can send you an estimate of the shipping costs. Your data will only be used for this purpose.
Please note that the minimum costs for express shipping outside Germany are usually at least 30 EUR. We work with various providers like DHL, UPS and TNT to find the most cost-effective option for your delivery address.
Returns
To return an item, please email the customer service at support@qrtriptags.com to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number. After receiving a RMA number, place the item securely in its original packaging, and mail your return to the following address:

All returns must be postmarked within fourteen (14) days of the purchase date. All returned items must be in new and unused condition, with all original tags and labels attached.

After receiving your return and inspecting the condition of your item, we will process your return. Please allow at least fourteen (14) days from the receipt of your item to process your return. If not agreed otherwise, the refund will be made using the payment method that was used in the original order. Refunds may take 1-2 billing cycles to appear on your credit card statement, depending on your credit card company. We will notify you by email when your return has been processed.
No, customized products are excluded from exchange and return.
